<h2>About</h2>
<p>
I am an Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Bath. My research explores novel ways for people to interact with computer systems, with a focus on creating interaction techniques that embrace user variability rather than constrain it. My work spans human-computer interaction, ubiquitous computing, and extended reality (AR/VR), with a strong emphasis on wearable and vision-based input technologies. In addition to interaction design, we apply these technologies to impactful healthcare contexts, including assistive communication and the detection and monitoring of axial spondyloarthritis, a chronic inflammatory condition affecting the spine.

This work has been covered by media outlets including the <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p05jmxj8">BBC</a>, <a href="https://www.newscientist.com/article/2148963-how-a-wave-of-your-coffee-cup-or-spoon-could-switch-tv-channels/">New Scientist</a>, <a href="https://www.reuters.com/video/2017/10/01/turn-your-head-into-a-remote-control?videoId=372645824">Reuters</a>, the <a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/10/02/end-tv-remote-could-nigh-scientists-invent-technology-change/">Telegraph</a>, and <a href="http://www.wired.co.uk/article/control-tv-with-mug">Wired</a>.
</p>
<p>
Currently, I am a member of the <a href="https://www.bath.ac.uk/research-groups/human-computer-interaction/">HCI@Bath research group</a>, the Bath Spondyloarthritis Research Consortium (SPARC), <a href="https://www.bath.ac.uk/research-institutes/bath-institute-for-the-augmented-human/">Institute for the Augmented Human</a>, <a href="https://www.bath.ac.uk/research-centres/centre-for-spatial-intelligence/">Centre for Spatial Intelligence</a>, and <a href="https://researchportal.bath.ac.uk/en/organisations/centre-for-bioengineering-biomedical-technologies-cbio">Centre for Bioengineering & Biomedical Technologies (CBio)</a>.

<p>
Previously, I was an EPSRC Doctoral Prize Researcher in the <a href="http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/scc/research/interactive-systems/">Interactive Systems</a> group at Lancaster University. My PhD investigated motion-coupling techniques using computer vision to enable interaction with any body part or object under the supervision of <a href="https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/scc/about-us/people/hans-gellersen">Prof. Hans Gellersen</a>. During my PhD I undertook an internship at <a href="https://www.fxpal.com/">FXPAL</a> in Palo Alto, California with <a href="https://worldviews.org/donkimber.html">Don Kimber</a> and <a href="https://sites.google.com/site/patrickchiuresearch/home">Patrick Chiu</a>.
