I wanted to open a discussion where users can leave ideas for new features. Please drop your ideas, hopes, dreams, pains, frustrations, etc... here! I'd love to see them.

I'll start. Here's a dream list. It's more than I can possibly get done in the next two years, but I'm keen to see if anyone has any thoughts.

• More property support
  • Joule-Thomson coefficient (as discussed in Issue Enhancement: Joule Thomson coefficient Addition #71)
  • Speed of sound
  • Gibbs energy
  • Helmholtz (free) energy
• More multi-phase substances (important, but time consuming)
  • C3H8, and other hydrocarbons
  • R22, R1234yf, and other refrigerants
  • H2
  • He
  • Ar
  • NH3
• Support for calculating phase equilibrium in mp1 from the Maxwell equilibrium condition instead of the saturation polynomials
• Ideal solid, gas, liquid multi-phase modeling
  • Treats gas as PG
  • Treats liquids and solids with constant bulk compressibility and thermal expansion coefficients
• A new collection for calculating the transport properties of ideal gases
  • viscosity
  • diffusivity
• A property toolkit including:
  • A "dynamic" ideal gas mixture class for calculating the properties of variable mixtures of gases
  • Functions for numerically differentiating properties
  • Some kind of support for reaction modeling (I'm hesitant to go there because there are already excellent alternatives)
• An ig3 class that uses Einstein's electrical partition function for calculating specific heat. This would let PYroMat use the entire original NIST-JANAF tables. It might even obsolete the NASA and Shomate models (we'll see).
• A mp2 class for non-Span-and-Wagner EOS models.
• A new collection for multi-component, multi-phase systems (this is a substantial amount of work)

  • O2 + N2 (cryogenic air)
