It should work, yes. We have installers (DMG) for macOS as well, see the releases page.
Do you have any issues?

following instructions, getting to "python3 -m qualcoder" and get the following error message: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'PyQt6'. Can't figure out how to resolve this.

Did you try running from the DMG as mentioned here?

Also if you are running from the course code, following the instructions. When you are in the (env) before moving to the src folder try this:

pip install PyQt6

Then check if PyQt6 is installed by running:

pip show PyQt6

Did any errors show when these commands were run, during the installation?
pip install --upgrade pip
pip install -r requirements.txt
