Markdown support for coding text

Hello!

First of all, thanks for your continued work and the improved AI support in version 3.7!

I have recently started to convert most of the materials that I am coding to mark-down format, because I suspect (but don't know for certain) that this may improve handling by the AI, compared to other formats. I've been using marker-pdf and markitdown for that, both tools make it quite convenient to convert word or pdf files to markdown.

I was wondering if it would be possible and make sense to provide markdown-support in the coding view, as you already do for the journal function. That would improve the readability of the markdown files by a lot.

HI. It is possible. But, the subsequent coding formatting changes might override the existing markdown. - for headings 1 2 3, bold and italics. Can you give me an example shortish md file. And I can experiment with it.

Removing the bold marks after the heading 2 mark gives this, heading 2:

Nice! Just highlighting markup in some simple way in the coding view would already improve legibility by a lot, even without removing the marks. This is what Xcode does, for example.

The indented lines are a nice touch, too, to increase legibility, but I don't want to make too many additional suggestions.

OK I have done a bit of testing and it seems to work. Annotations re bolded, as are coded sections marked Important - so this will perhaps sometimes clash with markdown bold.

Are you running from source code as this can be fairly easy to fix.
We are not in a position to build another exe for a few months.
And this request is fairly unique.

No, not running source code, but would be happy to try! Did you push it to the repo already?

No. I'm not going to do push to repo yet.
But if you can run from source, using the directions in Readme, please do the following.
Download this file: code_text.txt, rename it to code_text.py
Then put it inside the src/qualcoder folder - it will override an existing code_text.py file
It has a couple of extra lines of code in it that will active the markdown that is used in the journals section.
