Emacs 30.2 on macOS 26.2/aarch64: dragging file on the app/app icon opens two Emacs windows

When I drag a file on the app or app icon it will open two Emacs windows. One with the file and one with the startup screen.

(I'm assuming you mean dragging it to the icon when the app is not already running).

Hmm. I'm not seeing that. Perhaps you have something in your config that would affect it? Can you try moving your .emacs or .emacs.d out of the way and trying it?

Yes, when I drag a file to the icon in the dock while emacs is closed. See screenshot. I deleted .emacs.d/.
