Project Spotlight: ElasticGraph

We're thrilled to announce the [1.0.0 release of ElasticGraph](https://engineering.block.xyz/blog/elasticgraph-1-0-is-here), a project we've been developing and battle-testing within Block, now ready for the broader community! ElasticGraph is a schema-driven, scalable, cloud-native, batteries-included GraphQL framework, backed by Elasticsearch or OpenSearch.

Block Joins Open Source Initiative

[Block is now part of the Open Source Initiative](https://block.xyz/inside/block-joins-open-source-initiative-launches-public-policy-lab-to-advance-open-source-ecosystems), the global voice and standard-bearer of open source, and has also kicked off a new Public Policy Lab. OSI helps set the standards and direction for open source, and Block’s involvement means we’ll have a stronger role in shaping how open source software and AI are supported by future policies.

They deived deeper into global enterprise AI agent workflows, exploring AI agent proof of concepts and more.

Project Updates

Domain-API

Used in Square’s new Bitcoin Banking product for withdrawals, domain-api is a structured approach to implementing backend APIs for maximal client flexibility. It provides a framework for implementing domain-driven APIs that separate business logic from presentation concerns, making the code easier to test and reuse across different presentation layers.

kFSM

Introduced finite state machine definition DSL. Prior to v0.11, state machines would be composed by way of annotations and classpath scanning. With the new fsm DSL syntax, it is possible to succinctly define entire state machines in a single expression.

Trailblaze

Trailblaze rolled out a typesafe yaml format for recordings, along with new desktop app features for viewing logs and device management. These early iterations are laying the groundwork for great user experience improvements in the next couple of months.

Hermit

The new hermit bundle command allows you to create a completely self-contained directory for all your dev tools, without needing Hermit installed! Docker-friendly and CI/CD ready with zero dependencies, share a bundle with teammates to make sure everyone has identical tooling on the ready. What’s Loose with Goose

Check out the latest goose roadmap update and follow along with goose's development. Get a closer look at progress so far with new features, like auto-compaction, message editing, and more.

Here are the latest goose features we don’t want you to miss:

• MCP UI - Goose released support for MCP-UI, where extensions built on MCP-UI allow Goose Desktop to provide interactive and engaging user experiences. Imagine using a graphical, clickable UI instead of reading text responses and typing all your prompts!
• Subagents - Subagents are independent instances that execute tasks while keeping your main conversation clean and focused. Think of them as temporary assistants that handle specific jobs without cluttering your chat with tool execution details.
• Message Queue - Queue messages while Goose is processing a task to manage your workflow. Great for when you want to prepare next steps while Goose is working, or you have a sequence of related tasks to complete.
• Message Editing - Edit your previously sent messages to refine conversations and correct course. Your change can be as simple as fixing a path in your last message or completely starting over from a given point.
• Interrupt Tasks - Interrupt Goose while it's processing a task to take control of the conversation. When you see Goose is heading in the wrong direction, or you realize you need to add important context, interrupting a task can help.

AI Agent HackNight with MCP in Denver

The hack night world tour continues stateside! Thank you all for joining us for another sold-out hack night in Denver. AlphaZero Workshop

We recently ran an exciting 4-week long in-person workshop in Sydney where Goose acted as an AI tutor for ML and AI enthusiasts. Led by Paul Steven Conyngham, participants used Goose to learn Google’s AlphaZero paper using interactive examples, ultimately making their own self-learning models. Attendees loved having goose as their personal tutor for game design, RL concepts and more. Thanks to your enthusiasm, we’re planning on bringing this workshop to Melbourne next. Stay tuned!
