I just tried and got this error

Should work fine on mac, as that is my work laptop.

Any issues with your connection to the cluster? E.g. Kube config issues.

Also, did you add any custom configs?

So I mostly use k9s and works fine. one example command I use with k9s:

k9s --context=**** --namespace=****

This way I see pods and I am able to shell into them

No custom configs, just using default ~/.kube/config with different contexts and clusters

works great with all my 30+ clusters. [local, remote, kops, k0s, EKS]

~/.kube/ folder contains multiple configs, ku opens cluster which is in current context [to switch contexts i use kubectx]

use

ku --kubeconfig kubeconfigexample.yml

to access to your cluster via a yml file, looks like you are trying to connect a local cluster
