Toolchain doesn't exists for my release version of DSM

Hi @belgio99

Congratulations on this manual and for allowing me to resurrect a lost feature in DSM7.
I have a DS918+ (apollolake) with DSM version 7.2.2-72806 Update2 and when I was going to follow your manual I saw that the toolchain for my release does not exist.
Do you know if I can use the latest one (7.2-72746) or if it can be found in another url other than the one you mention (https://archive.synology.com/download/ToolChain/toolchain)?

Hi and thank you!

AFAIK that is the only link in existence for the toolchain, but I think you'll be safe using 7.2-72746, since what really matters is the Linux kernel version (which in my case, was 4.4.302+ at the time of writing, and it still is today).

At the time, I used 7.2-63134 even though my DSM version was 7.2.1-69057 Update 3.

The same modules I compiled more than a year ago are still running perfectly today, even after multiple DSM updates.

yesterday I tried to compile with [7.2-63134] because in the description of the [7.2-72746] indicates that the version kernel of this release is minor (Intel x86 Linux 4.4.180 (Apollolake) ) than my version 4.4.302+.

I have a big problem!! The repo "https://git.linuxtv.org/media_build.git" is empty!!!

Can you send me a zip with your downloaded copy of this repo? Do you know another site for download this?

All files were deleted in the last commit of the media_build repo: follow the guide closely, this section explains it and how to restore them using git checkout.

I also found this fork that seems more updated (so maybe more suitable for recent DVB devices), however I did not try this so you'll be on your own: https://github.com/tbsdtv/media_build

at this moment I have the same problem that the user in the other post. Error patching files.

I follow also his github but I obtains the same result, no modules to compile.
