[Feature request] Prevent kakoune freezing while pandoc is compiling

As the plugin is now, the kakoune session freezes while the preview is compiled. This is not a problem if a users computer is fast enough, but on slower machines it is a hassle. The following link may be a hint towards a solution:

I will look at this myself at some point, and create a PR if I succeed at getting it working.

Thanks for raising this issue.

I've had this on my agenda for a long time but never really got to it.

I think it should work like the built-in make command in that it works asynchronous and prints its output to a dedicated buffer.
