@docwilmot Just an initial guess here, but have you enabled Gin, or just set it as the admin theme without enabling it?

If this is an issue though, its poor UX for Backdrop. Shouldnt we also have an "Enable and set as admin" process?

@docwilmot I'm curious if any of the issues you raised were due to Gin being set as default without being activated. If so that helps narrow down what needs to happen to fix things.
