Getting timeout on windows 8

i developed a client that uses the sdk to send mqtt to aws.
on windows 10 machines this works as expected
on windows 8 i keep getting timeout error and i don't understand why.
i've disabled the firewall and antivirus and didn't help - i'm not sure where to look for the problem
i'm attaching a log example that the sdk generate - maybe it will help you understand what the issue is

Pure speculation but ALPN support on Windows 8 is dependent on particular Windows version. A few suggestions you could try (while running from Windows 8):

1. Use wireshark to look at the TLS handshake on connect. Do you see the ALPN value ('x-amzn-mqtt-ca') set in the CLIENT HELLO packet?
2. Try connecting without ALPN to port 8883 rather than 443
