YouTube change breaks extension in Brave Browser

Suddenly opening a video in a new tab shows a full screen version of the thumbnail with the YT Logo in the middle. Clicking on it gives a black screen. Removing the extension fixed the issue the first time. Refreshing the screen with F5 starts the video.
