Just got my BlinkStick Flex today and tried it against BlinkStick client 2.0 RC9. It seems the Ambilight feature provided only computes a single color from your screen which is rather limited as ambilight goes.
I'll be looking at getting an ambilight effect closer to what Philips does with its TVs.
I found the following project but could not find the source code for it. Is there a plan to integrate a full feature ambilight to BlinkStick client? I have not looked at the source code yet I guess it should be doable especially since it already claims to work with DirectX games too. All what's needed really is to get access to the frame buffer and compute your colors. Once the frame buffer access is worked out the color compute algorithms implementation should be a lot of fun.
I'd be happy to help with the coding at some point.
