Texts -- Translation and Transcription #80

Description

@sjabrookes

Dear all, just to follow-up in more detail about an issue that I referred to in our meeting.

NB: all reference here is to the KDL version of MoA, and NOT our shiny new version (staging or beta!)

  1. If you click on the "Manuscripts" result type, then it says: "Search: Manuscripts (712)". That's correct: there are 712 items in the project's corpus.

  2. However, if you click on "Texts", then it says: "Search: Texts (899)".

The difference in the number of "Texts" is confusing. There are not more texts than manuscripts, because the texts are translations and transcriptions of the manuscripts. In fact, 899 is "485 Transcription" and "414 Translation" added together.

NB: That means that although there are 712 charters, only 485 of them have been transcribed and of those 485, only 414 have been translated.

I hope that makes sense so far ;-)

To make that more transparent, what I'd like is for the Search results at the top to say:
"Search: Texts transcribed = 485/712. Texts translated = 414/712"

Do we think that's a good approach/solution? I'm open to better suggestions.
