Desktop: wtf is the new tab layout, tab titles dont fit anymore on screen

I can't see any sessions titles in new layout, how is this supposed to work?

I guess it's a bug, revert to 1.17 fixes it.

If this was meant as a feature, please revert. After years browsers finally understood vertical tabs are the way to see whats going on so we got vertical tabs already.

Terminals have vertical tabs for a long time.

Why is opencode going clutter hell's way?

What opencode user has 2 sessions max open?

Steps to reproduce

1. open sessions in a project
2. try to read session titles to navigate
3. can't

Not a fan of the layout. Immediately reverted back to old layout. I might have tried the new layout but couldn't find how to enter "plan" mode. Don't try to be extra smart, just copy Codex UX.

I have to say, so far I'm not a fan of it either. Especially since it's not easy to see which section is finished.
Plus, there are still some basic features missing, like the ability to switch between Plan and Build, etc.
I also sometimes connect to my computer via RDP: Here, too, the connection bar isn't much help with the tab layout.

True I like the old layout a lot. I have a large screen and I prefer having a list of sessions always available. I would actually instead appreciate an option to extend the list of sessions instead of having to press "Load more".

The real problem with new layout - I do not see Plan/Build mode switch. It is important. I can't even try new layout without it. Thanks.

@dyvoker Take a look in the settings - you can reactivate it there (I have no idea why they do that). With the new layout, though, I first had to figure out where the settings option were. In the end, I switched back to the old design. The old design could be freshened up a bit, but it was better from UX perspective.

@wbdb thanks for info! Build/Plan was feature I using a lot, and IMHO it is better to show it by default in new UI.

recent updates only focus on the desktop app, while the tui has a pile of (serious) bugs pending review for weeks. get your priorities straight guys! if i wanted a desktop app i would use hermes or codex.

I didn't like the new interface; it's more confusing to use. The plan and build options are gone, and open projects are no longer visible, which makes it even more confusing.

Another thing to improve in the new UI (desktop by running opencode web) is that even you enable workspaces, I cannot see it anymore, you have to hover the session title to see workspace path but didn't see option to create a new workspace or handle with already created ones.
I think there are a lot of options that are not available in the new UI and I agree with most of users here that I will stick with a previous version right now.
