Issue using GitHub Copilot MAI-Code-1-Flash: not accessible via the /chat/completions endpoint

Description

My org admin recently enabled the use of Microsoft MAI-Code-1-Flash for my Copilot Enterprise subscription. However, when I try and use it in OpenCode I get:

model "mai-code-1-flash-picker" is not accessible via the /chat/completions endpoint

So, as another test, I tried the same test ("Summarize the README.md") in copilot-cli after selecting MAI-Code-1-Flash and it worked fine.

Is there perhaps something I need in my opencode.jsonc to tell it how to find the right endpoint?

1. Have a GitHub Copilot Enterprise subscription
2. Have the admin enable Microsoft MAI-Code-1-Flash in copilot settings
3. Open opencode and select MAI-Code-1-Flash under the /model picker for GitHub Copilot
4. Type "hello"

Note: I didn't post a /share link because, well, I'm not sure what that would expose from my GitHub Copilot subscription. I'm a bit afraid of doing that...

This issue might be a duplicate of an existing issue. Please check:

• OpenCode is unable to invoke third-party models added by enterprises in GitHub Copilot. #34030: OpenCode is unable to invoke third-party models added by enterprises in GitHub Copilot — same scenario of enterprise-enabled models not being accessible through OpenCode's Copilot integration, with a similar error about the wrong endpoint being used.

If your issue is distinct (e.g. the model appears in the picker but fails with the specific not accessible via the /chat/completions endpoint error for MAI-Code-1-Flash specifically), please add clarifying details so it can be tracked separately.

I do not think this is a dup of #34030. Why? MAI-Code-1-Flash is not a third-party model. GitHub itself (aka Microsoft, the one that made the model and owns GitHub) added it:

If anything, it is maybe the ONLY model in Copilot that can be considered first-party since Microsoft themselves made it.

I don't think as well MAI is a third-party model, those models are not in the list of supported models in the enterprise admin, MAI appear in the same select that Anthropic and OpenAI models.

My guess is that perhaps something internal to opencode assumes what the endpoints for copilot look like and Microsoft did something different for this one?

Over on copilot-cli, @lfmundim noted they saw it in VSCode but not the cli though now it does work since I could use it.

Hi any update about this case. still unavailable for me to use MAI model in opencode

I'm pretty sure this is on github copilot team and how they handle this specific model. I too have the same issue. Maybe someone from copilot can assist or give details on how to properly reach this model's endpoints

What version do you have ? I'm on 1.16.2 and I still got model "mai-code-1-flash-picker" is not accessible via the /chat/completions endpoint.
