Flint 2 - MT6000 - Unable to sign in

I have installed the integration through HACS and restarted my Home Assistant server, however, I am unable to sign in during the setup process.

The error is:

"Failed to connect to the router. Please check the IP address and network connectivity."

My IP Router is 192.168.1.1, I am able to sign in through the GUI as well as into LuCI. I tried changing my password and still no luck.

I know the integration was tested on the MT3000 but I do have Firmware 4.8.2 release 3 which is the latest & greatest as of September 18th 2025.

Strongly advise to uninstall everything and just go back to what is now the default GliNET integration on HACS:

Was there any resolution to this? I'm experiencing the same issue with Flint 2 and have reinstalled HACS addon several times.

I don't know if that helps and if anyone is able to do the needed modifications to api.py, but this what LLM told me on this kind of issue:

The api.py likely sends your password in a way that modern Firmware 4.x (especially on the Flint 2) considers insecure. Newer firmware requires a Challenge-Response handshake where the password is never sent directly.
The Flint 2 uses a JSON-RPC 2.0 interface. When you try to connect, the router expects you to ask for a "challenge" first, then hash your password with a unique "salt" and "nonce" provided by the router. If you just send the password directly (which the first integration likely does), the router sees it as an invalid request and drops the connection.
The Fix: Patching api.py
To fix the "Failed to connect" error, you need to edit custom_components/glinet/api.py

I like more this integration than the other suggested above as it comes with more features..
