PHPFormMail says it's sending emails but they are not arriving

Hello I have PHPFormMail.php installed and configured on my domain

The form returns a "successfully sent" message and the error_log says:
[21-Jun-2023 19:31:29 EST] [PHPFormMail] Normal e-mail sent from IP xx.xx.xx.xx

However, no emails are being delivered.
What might be the problem and how do I troubleshoot it?
Is there any other setting on the server that would prevent me from receiving emails?

This usually means that PHPFormMail processed it successfully and the mail() call was successful. Unfortunately it doesn't guarantee the mail was actually sent.

Before we deep dive, double check that you have the right address for the mail to go to. It could be sending but to the wrong address. If that doesn't work I'd recommend checking your php logs to see if PHPFormail or PHP added any logs about a failure to send. If there isn't anything in your php logs check your mail settings in php.ini (if you have access to that.)

The php.ini settings can vary depending on the operating system of your server see https://www.php.net/manual/en/mail.configuration.php for more info. Important parts are sendmail path or smtp parts.

Debugging steps

1. Check "to" address
2. Check php/server logs for any error messages
3. Check php.ini

Had the same issue above for anyone who encounters it... check your server logs/mail delivery logs. In my instance it was the server IP being on a blacklist that prevented delivery, not the script. The newest version works fine with PHP 7.3.
