Connection with Spotify issues

Been enjoying the app along with Spotify Connect for some time but lately I've noticed when using Spotify Connect to my Sonos speakers that the app somehow looses connection with Spotify. I can be playing a playlist and everything works fine play/pause, volume etc. But after some time like 4-5 songs I cn no longer control Spotify. I then have to close Spotify and open it again al while Spotidy Connect is still playing and I can then again control Spotify. Haven't really changed anything in my system but maybe some changes in the way Spotify manages itself?

Sorry for this issue. Let's see what could cause it.

I think the first step is to rule out whether the bug is caused by Spotify.

The next time you experience the problem, before restarting Spotify, could you please open the Terminal.app and run

osascript -e 'tell application "Spotify" to sound volume'

which is expected to return the volume of Spotify.

You can also run

osascript -e 'tell application "Spotify" to set sound volume to 40'

which should set the volume to 40%.

VolumeControl does not call osascript but relies on the same Apple technology (AppleEvents) underlying AppleScripts.

You can also check in the menu bar of "Volume Control" whether it displays the correct volume percent for Spotify:
