Modifying a Melee ISO causes it to crash on startup

The program was working perfectly fine earlier and i don't understand why i can no longer use it to mod melee. i even have an ISO where i was able to implement the changes i wanted using the program. Now just hitting yes on the "install m-ex system" prompt means the iso will immediately crash on startup and give me this error message

the fix I found for this is loading up a melee Akaneia iso rather than a vanilla melee iso
