What problem does this solve?
Open Science currently uses a single interface language, which creates an unnecessary barrier for users who are more comfortable working in other languages.
This may make settings, error messages, and onboarding harder to understand, especially for non-English-speaking users.
Proposed solution
Add multilingual support for the application interface.
Users should be able to select their preferred language in Settings, with the option to follow the operating system language by default.
As an initial implementation, support could begin with:
- English
- Simplified Chinese
Interface labels, settings, dialogs, notifications, and error messages should all use the selected language.
