[Bug]: Backups won't run from datacenter view, work fine from VM itself

Bug Description

Hello! First GitHub bug report, so please be gentle.

Attempting to create backups to a PBS server. When I create a backup job in ProxCenter from the datacenter view, clicking the start button registers me clicking it, but then does nothing. If I run the same backup through the default PVE view itself (not ProxCenter), it works just fine. No event logs created or event listed in the PVE task log, and no task is created on the PBS server. When I create a backup from the VM itself through ProxCenter, the backup will run without issue. Thank you in advance!

Thanks for the detailed report, and welcome. This was a great first bug report, it made the cause easy to pin down. 🙂

You spotted the key difference. It only affected Run now from the Datacenter → Backups view, on a job that is not pinned to a specific node (Node column shows — All —) and that targets a VM living on a node other than the first one alphabetically.

What happened: Proxmox has no direct "run this job now" API, so ProxCenter rebuilds a vzdump run. When the job wasn't pinned to a node, the run was sent to the first node of the cluster. Since vzdump only backs up guests on the node it runs on, nothing happened when your VM lived on a different node. That is also why it worked from the VM's own Backups tab (which already targets the VM's node) and from Proxmox's native Run now.

The fix resolves the node(s) actually hosting the job's selection and runs the backup there (one run per node for multi-node or "all" jobs). It now also replays the job's full settings and shows a confirmation when a run starts, so it is no longer silent.

This will be in the next release, and I'll follow up here once it ships. Thanks again!
