Unable to download video post firmware update - URL to camera no longer returns list of files

Using BlackVue Elite9, errors in container state "ERROR Cannot obtain list of recordings from dashcam at address http://CAMERAIP; error : HTTP Erorr 415"

Last videos I have downloaded by container are for 13/6/2026, and I recall updating the firmware lately. From website, https://support.blackvue.com.au/hc/en-us/articles/14374647170703-ELITE-9-1CH-2CH#h_01K17DE254ZNACJ5PRMK3DH0BN

There was a firmware update recently, BlackVue Firmware (V1.009) Released: 11/06/2026 . And believe this is what broke the downloading for me.

When I browse to http://CAMERAIP/blackvue_vod.cgi I no longer get a list of available filenames, just txt saying "mp4 only"
If i browse to http://CAMERAIP/blackvue_vod.cgi/record , I get text saying invalid filename

If I know the name of a file on the SD card, I can get it to display a video interface with controls in chrome, eg: http://CAMERAIP/20260629_085329_MF.mp4 , but cant play in Chrome cause dont have addons or whatnot.

But if i startup VLC, I can open that stream (http://CAMERAIP/20260629_085329_MF.mp4) and begin playback from the SD card.
So you can still access the files via the "cloud" but the internal webpage being provided by the BlackVue camera no longer returns a filelist. So until that is fixed, cant use this anymore.

Have yet to investiagate if I can downgrade firmware on camera, would be next step I guess.

EDIT:

I was able to manually downgrade the firmware to [V1.008)] by using the SD card method, and when browsing to the IP of the camera, it is returning a filelist again so that is the fix. I guess this is now a warning note for anyone using this process to get your recording off, don't upgrade to v1.009 . The container is also copying recordings off again.

Thank you for reporting this. 1.009 appears to have introduced an API change, deprecating the previous endpoint.

If you are willing to go for a little bit without being able to do downloads, would you be able to access, on the new firmware:

1. http://CAMERAIP/vodList
2. http://CAMERAIP/accessible

and report what you see?

You should see a json list for the former, and the latter is how we can tell which version of the API we're meant to use.

I have an old camera, so I can't run the test myself.

Once we have an idea of the format, I can add the code to handle this new API.

I have this installed on a NAS with docker and dont have another Linux install to try this elsewhere. Ill keep fudging about but dont wait up.

So video files have moved completely. For one of those video filenames returned by http://cameraip/vodList, would you be able to see if any content is returned for these urls.

For a 20260704_102813_IF.mp4:

• http://CAMERAIP/20260704_102813_I.3gf (drop the F/R before the dot: _IF → _I)
