Port Scan: Only active until refresh?

Hi there,

I want to understand the Port Scan feature better, because I think this is a valuable addition to get information about a unknown device.
From my observation, the scan does work after clicking on Scan. It is slow, which is a good thing to remain stealthy I guess. But after a while an open port is shown with the number.

• When I refresh the page (or leaving and navigating back to the host), no scan activity is visualized. Does this mean, the Port Scan is only active while remaining on the page, or does it continue in the background?
• After a page reload on a host page, the ports found in a previous Port Scan are not there anymore: Are they persisted in any way?

Since the progress of one port every 3 seconds, it would take nearly 55 hours (or over 2 days) for a complete scan of all 65535 ports if my math is correct.
