Open print tag / enhancement

I can see why you would want SpoolManager to be able to interact with the data on the NFC chips. It would be an interesting addition.

As far as I understand it, it boils down to OpenPrintTag and is not technically related to Prusa printers or filament (even though their filament will come with tags by default). Which kind of implementation do you think of? They mention support could be in printers or in a smartphone app. SpoolManager runs on neither.

Connecting and USB nfc reader to an octoprint server and you just tap it for automatic switching would be neat and maybe also import via that if it's a new spool. If octoprint allows accessing the hardware for plugins.

Or maybe an option for the phone to scan the NFC tag while in the browser. Though I don't know how well iphones support it. Or other browsers than chromium based: https://developer.chrome.com/docs/capabilities/nfc

So you would open octoprint on your phone browser and have some button to scan nfc.

Yes my understanding of the OpenTag is the same.

You ask for my interests/ideas in an implementation:

• importing new Spools into the spoolmanager (tag --> spoolmanger)
• writing or replace new/existing tags with fresh data from spoolmanger (spoolmanager --> tag)
• updating running spools (maybe at the end of the print either if ok; cancelled or abort due to error) (single update after print)
• candy or golden balcony ;-) support 5 (for Prusa or 'n' ) NFC reader/writer near spools when using a MMU/AMS etc. for online communication with the spools during print
