Futureport 82 In game videos display white screen

Description

When playing Futureport 82 any in game videos only show up as white screens.

Steps to reproduce

Try to watch any in game video.

Videos are encoded in H.264

Expected behaviour

Videos should play as normal

I'm having a similar issue with Soul Calibur VI, started with Whisky, Version 2.3.4 (42)
On the start screen, where it says "Press any key" to start playing, the background is black. The background should be given by
TITLE_HEAD.mp4 and then TITLE_LOOP.mp4 but it seems they don't play and the background stays black. The video files are in H.264.
It seems like the codec is missing.

I tried to convert the video files from H.264 to MPEG-4 and in this way the background is displayed correctly.

Is this something I can do without modifying the game?

I do not know... I started using Whisky only yesterday and the first problem was Steam not starting, but I managed to find instructions to allow it to start. Then trying Soul Calibur VI I found a problem with H.264 video files.

I hope for an update of Whisky to solve with H.264 video files.

I wanted to warn those who have the same problem that this worked...
Using mf-fix I managed to play and play the .mp4 H.264 videos.

Since I'm now using Crossover 25, I modified a few lines of the script to fit it on the Crossover Steam bottle...

The mf-fix script must be executed from the terminal, go to the folder that contains mf-fix.sh and start with
chmod +x mf-fix.sh
Then the script must be executed. Example of use:. /mf-fix.sh -e "/path/to/game/directory/" “/path/to/wine/prefix/“

"/path/to/game/directory/" It is the path to the game's .exe file
“/path/to/wine/prefix/“ It's the bottle that contains the game

For my game it is /Users/dino/Library/Containers/com.isaacmarovitz.Whisky/Bottles/328CBAE2-6370-40EE-BCDB-F7BD9277595B/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/SoulcaliburVI/SoulcaliburVI/Binaries/Win64
While the bottle is /Users/dino/Library/Containers/com.isaacmarovitz.Whisky/Bottles/328CBAE2-6370-40EE-BCDB-F7BD9277595B

So the command to type for my game is:
./mf-fix.sh -e "/Users/dino/Library/Containers/com.isaacmarovitz.Whisky/Bottles/328CBAE2-6370-40EE-BCDB-F7BD9277595B/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/SoulcaliburVI/SoulcaliburVI/Binaries/Win64" "/Users/dino/Library/Containers/com.isaacmarovitz.Whisky/Bottles/328CBAE2-6370-40EE-BCDB-F7BD9277595B"

But the whiskey wine path must be indicated in the script.
In line 133 instead of wine its path must be indicated
wine reg add "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\DllOverrides" /v $1 /d native /f
The problem is that I don't know which one is for whiskey.

For Crossover it was easy to find information about the wine route:
"/Applications/CrossOver.app/Contents/SharedSupport/CrossOver/bin/wine" --bottle Steam --cx-app reg add "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\DllOverrides" /v $1 /d native /f
Where Steam is the name of the Crossover bottle. With Whiskey it will be 328CBAE2-6370-40EE-BCDB-F7BD9277595B

This must also be done for lines 204 to 214 (only for lines where there is wine, while the wine64 lines can be commented on)

But for whiskey I couldn't find the wine path.

@Dino0005 Oh wow, yeah that's beyond my capability. I can run a script, but I don't follow most of what you wrote in that last post. Thank you for looking in to it for me.

You could try the free version for 14 days. But even with Crossover there is the issue with h.264 codes and their support can't help because they say that the codecs have been removed for a licensing problem.
So you should still modify the mf-fix script to fit it to Crossover, but it seems to be easier to do it than... for whiskey I still haven't been able to find the path to wine.

Yes, Here is the script file mf-fix-cx.sh (This works with Crossover)
mf-fix-cx.sh.zip

you will have to add the file I share to the mf-fix-main folder, to be downloaded from the GitHub page of https://github.com/HoodedDeath/mf-fix, clicking on the green "Code" button, then on "ZIP Download"

Open the terminal and go to the mf-fix-main folder, first type chmod +x mf-fix-cx.sh

Then run the script...For example for SoulcaliburVI in the Steam bottle:
./mf-fix-cx.sh -e "/Users/dino/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles/Steam/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/SoulcaliburVI/SoulcaliburVI/Binaries/Win64" "/Users/dino/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles/Steam"
