Unable to get version 3.4.8 to work with Muzei 3.0

Thanks for the great app!! Sorry but I still can't seem to get the latest version to work with Muzei 3.0.2 on both my Nexus 6P (Android 8.1) and Pixel 2 xl (Android 9.0). I selected "Mysplash" from Muzei -> Sources, but nothing happened. I further tried all 3 sources in the "Settings For Muzei", and the problem persisted. I wonder if it's a bug or I'm just using it wrong?

According to my experience, you must keep mysplash runing in the background so that the Muzei can get new photo normally.

It does not work for me either on Oreo, with battery optimization disabled. The "next" button does not appear on Muzei when the Mysplash source is selected.

Both of my devices are on stock Android, so background running is enabled by default. I tried to disable battery optimization for both Muzei and Mysplash, but was unable not resolve the issue.

Just want to report back that in the latest version Muzei implementation now works on both my devices.

May I ask what Settings For Muzei -> Cache Mode mean? I can't seem to see the difference between keeping or deleting old photos.
