Device bricked after running a bunch of commands, and an error of 'No such file or directory' while extracting fs support tar

Hello...

I am not a big reader and thus have not read to see if anyone else has had this issue... All was going well until this command (and the ones after):

adb shell "tar -xf /sdcard/surfaceduo2-twrp-fssupport.tar -C /sdcard/fssupport --no-same-owner"

..... it says

No such file or directory

(and the commands that follow, 'cause I did say frick it let me continue.

Well, I guess I am unfortunate, my Surface Duo 2 is "dead" bricked.

Sounds like you failed steps prior to the command you shared and the file didnt get sent to the device. How dead is your device exactly?

Hey... Hello! Thanks for getting back to me. Well, If I missed steps (or messed steps/commands up), my bad! 🤷‍♂️ This said, it goes no further than the Boot Select. When I choose Start it goes back to Boot Select, when I choose Recovery Mode it goes back to Boot Select. When I choose Power off it powers off (at least that works! 😁). So, lost cause????

Not a lost cause but you are going to need to wait a little (maybe a week, reply again next saturday in case i forgot) because I have to draft a lengthy and tedious step by step guide for you to get out of this.

Any line duplication is not a typo nor a mistake

• fastboot set_active other
• fastboot set_active other
• fastboot boot <path to twrp img file on your computer>
• Once booted into TWRP, start by running the following command to make sure everything we do is accepted by the device:

adb shell "setenforce 0"

• Now, let's copy parted onto the device, first, start by typing the following text, but do not press enter just yet

adb push

• Go find the parted file you downloaded earlier, right click it, click "Copy as path"

• Then go back to the Command Prompt window we started writing text in previously, and simply, right click on it with your mouse (or long press if you're on a touch device), you should now see this:

• And now, continue to write the rest of the command, like so:

 /sdcard/

• Now you can press enter

• Now let's install parted correctly onto the TWRP image, by running the following command

adb shell "mv /sdcard/parted /sbin/parted && chmod 755 /sbin/parted"

• Now, let's open a shell onto the device, by running the following command

adb shell

• Let's now run parted:

parted /dev/block/sda

• And let's execute parted's print command:

print

You'll get a list of partitions.

Right... this is what I got... hope it helps (as you can see, after : adb shell "mv /sdcard/parted /sbin/parted && chmod 755 /sbin/parted" : I get No such file or directory.
