Privacy Policy

Symptom Tracker Last updated: March 31, 2026

Overview

Symptom Tracker is a personal health diary app. Your privacy is fundamental to how we built this app. We do not collect, store, or have access to any of your data.

Data Collection

We do not collect any data. All symptom entries, health information, and app preferences are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers. We do not have servers that receive your data.

What Data the App Stores Locally

The app stores the following information exclusively on your device:

  • Symptom names, categories, and severity ratings
  • Duration, body location, and notes
  • Triggers and relief actions
  • App preferences and settings

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to back it up.

Google Drive Backup (Optional)

If you choose to enable Google Drive backup:

  • A backup file is stored in your own Google Drive account in a protected app-specific folder
  • Only you and this app can access that file — no other apps or users can see it
  • We never have access to your Google account or your backup data
  • You can delete the backup at any time from your Google Drive
  • The app requests only the minimum drive.appdata permission, which limits access to a hidden app-specific folder

Google Sign-In

Google Sign-In is used to authenticate your Google Drive backup. When you sign in, your name, email address,
and profile photo are displayed within the app settings so you can see which account is connected. This
information is provided by Google's sign-in service, is held only in temporary memory while the app is
running, and is never stored in our database or sent to any server. No other Google account data (contacts,
calendar, etc.) is accessed.

Third-Party Services

The app does not include:

  • Analytics or tracking SDKs
  • Advertising frameworks
  • Crash reporting that transmits personal data
  • Any service that collects or processes your health information

Data Sharing

We do not share any data with third parties. Period.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

  • Uninstalling the app deletes all local data
  • You can clear app data from Android Settings > Apps > Symptom Tracker > Clear Data
  • Google Drive backups can be deleted from your Google Drive account

Children's Privacy

This app does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app stores data only on the user's device.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the changes will be reflected in the app's repository and the "Last updated" date above will be revised.
