This behavior is handled in a lot of other mods with text boxes, if not too hard it'd be a great improvement.

Hey, thanks for the recommendation, I hadn't though of that (and it should be relatively simple to implement). If you have any other ideas of how to improve the usability of CraftGuide, I would be quite grateful to hear about them.

Well, to be brutally honest I'm just here because friends are running a Pixelmon server, and that doesn't get along with NEI at all.

So CraftGuide was recommended, and it does seem quite useful. Things I've found myself missing so far (And some of these things would probably be quite the bear)

• Filtering by mod
• Showing owning mod in tooltip
• Ability to open the relevant page of a item by pressing the corresponding hotkey in your inventory
• Filling crafting grids, or at the least, being able to be open at the same time as the crafting grid to see what goes where.
• Clearly distinguish recipes FOR a item from recipes WITH a item at a glance
• Option to default to Item view

Granted, a lot of this is just me missing NEI, so I'm not sure what roles you're trying to fill with the mod and so which suggestions would be undesirable.

Saving the window size relative to screen size would probably be another easy one. I end up making it huge each time, since I don't need to [can't] keep it next to the crafting window.

Oops, I just realized I had a staged-but-not-committed commit for this for the past week or two (I probably wanted to quickly test it in-game, was interrupted, and forgot it was there).

The rest of this discussion contains quite a few things worth ongoing consideration, so I'll either leave this issue open, or create a new one for additional improvements. I'm not really sure which is the better way to handle GitHub issues.
