Currently, custom icons have their original colour, though slightly warped. The real issue happens when changing the colour of the marker as this tints the image, so it looks off.
We can do the following:
- let users know that white images are preferred
- support SVGs, meaning output of icons should be SVGs, they handling this colour changing better
- update pipeline to carefully change colours of the uploaded image so that tinting is applied as expected
Not the highest priority for now but would be great to have a propor fix discussed and implemented to polish the way markers look.
