Steam: 16Gb RAM requirement

Please could you mention 16Gb RAM requirement?
Apologies if I missed this....

I have no knowledge of steam. So others may feel differently.
My M2 mac mini 8Gb stalled repeatedly during installation:

gnome-settings-daemon

Application Stopped
Device memory is nearly full.
An application was using a lot of memory and was forced to stop

no other application was open or in use, though clearly maintenance would have been running in the background.

After a few reboots, and many crashes I did sign up, so installation is possible, just desperate, at the moment.
or perhaps mention that install on new ubuntuasahi install, will require persistance?
