Cytometry in R - Week #12 - Spectral Signatures

Hello everyone, we are now at the twelfth week of Cytometry in R course! For previous course emails, see here.

This week for the primary course material, we will explore how to extract fluorescent signatures from our unmixing controls (both single-color and unstained). In the process, we deep dive into what often seems like a black box when we first start to learn about spectral flow cytometry, with the goal of demystifying what goes on behind the scenes, allowing us to better decide what makes a good quality unmixing control for our own experiments. Additionally, we will highlight some of the new functions that are present in both the flowGate and Luciernaga packages that make this workflow far easier than it has been previously to implement in R. For those in Baltimore attending in-person:

• We will meet on Thursday at 4 PM EST (Bressler Research Building 7-035). The plan is to start the Week 12 material (and possibly extending into next week as needed).

For those attending online, our YouTube live-streams will be unfortunately a little off-schedule this week. For our primary course material, the live-streams will be this week at:

• Wednesday 2200 EST (Thursday 0200 GMT+0)

• Thursday 1000 EST (Thursday 1400 GMT+0)

• Friday 1600 EST (Friday 2000 GMT+0)

Additionally, next week I will try to record all the one-off bonus walk-throughs (since I have commitments on Wednesday and Thursday). These are currently set for:
