Hello everyone, we are now at the eleventh week of Cytometry in R course! For previous course emails, see here. This week, we will see why R remains a statistical powerhouse, setting out to leverage our increasing familiarity with functions and iteration to significantly reduce the amount of time it takes going from gated cytometry data, through statistical testing and plotting.
We will do this by retrieving summary statistics from our gated GatingSets, tidying up the output, running statistical test, outputting the p-values to beeswarm boxplots, before wrapping them into a pdf for quicker evaluation. You can find this week's course material here.
For those in Baltimore attending in-person:
For those attending online, our YouTube live-streams will be on:
Tuesday 2200 EST (Wednesday 0200 GMT+0)
Wednesday 1530 EST (Wednesday 1930 GMT+0) (timeslot for the rest of the summer)
Thursday 1000 EST (Thursday 1400 GMT+0).
All recordings will be available immediately afterwards on YouTube.
Please Note:
Starting next week, we will be taking a short break for the rest of this month. This allows everyone time to catch up, and allows for me to finish up the last of the data analysis and R package documentation I need to have done before the Cyto conference (as well as any thesis edits I get back from my readers). I will be releasing a few one-off videos covering some of the backlog I still owe you (Compensation, Concatenation, AI, etc.) throughout, so sporadically check the Website and YouTube to see if anything new has appeared. When we start back up in June, we will be covering the Fluorescent Signature through Unmixing module.
Best Wishes-
David
