Welcome back to the eight week of the Cytometry in R course! The day that many of you have been patiently waiting for has arrived, as this week we are learning how to create gates in R!!! For previous course emails, see here .
We will showcase two approaches, one a manual-gating style mediated through the flowGate package, and another that implementing automated gates using the openCyto package. Initial materials for this week are now available via the course website.
Community Feedback Survey
Thanks to everyone who has completed the Community Feedback Survey! I will be working on implementing some of the suggestions and providing answers over the next week. The survey will remain open for another week, and can be found here
Times this week
The Wednesday live-stream session will be half-an-hour earlier this week (Wednesday 1530 EST (Wednesday 2030 GMT+0)) as I have a commitment on the other side of town immediately after.
For those joining online, Please Note: The US has had its summer time change, so depending where you are in the world when (or if) your equivalent time change occurs, the YouTube live-stream times may be off by an hour from when you normally expected them. They are offered at
Tuesday 2200 EST (Wednesday 0300 GMT+0),
Wednesday 1530 EST (Wednesday 2030 GMT+0)
Thursday 1000 EST (Thursday 1500 GMT+0)
Recordings are available immediately after.
For those in Baltimore attending (or wanting to attend ) in-person , the only session this week is Thursday at 4 PM EST (Bressler Research Building 7-035).
Best Wishes-
David
