The game crashes after 1 second of a black screen

I've followed the instructions several times from scratch, with reboots. I've tried removing Lambda and installing Legacy and non-Legacy versions of the games. Lamba works well, but CSVR doesn't even launch the menu - it just displays a black screen with a PICO ring for 1 second and then crashes without any errors. I'm using a regular PICO 4 A8110 (5.8.2). CS 1.6 and Half Life are licensed from Steam. I really want to play, thanks
