Production Ready Checklist ✅

All Systems Go! 🚀

Your Smart Notification Router is now production-ready and fully prepared for Docker deployment.

✅ Completed Tasks

1. UI Improvements

  • ✅ Merged Rules Tab: Combined immediate rules and correlation rules into one unified "Rules" tab
  • ✅ Visual Badges: Blue badges for immediate rules, purple badges for correlation rules
  • ✅ Enhanced Logs: Improved webhook logs display with payload preview and better formatting
  • ✅ Better Organization: Section headers clearly separate rule types

2. Code Cleanup

  • ✅ Removed Development Files:
    • Planning documents (CORRELATION_RULES_PLAN.md, etc.)
    • Test files (test-correlation-debug.js, nul, Untitled)
    • Unused components (correlation-rule-builder.tsx)
  • ✅ Kept Essential Docs: README.md, CHANGELOG.md, FEATURES.md, SETUP_GUIDE.md, DEPLOYMENT.md

3. Docker Configuration

  • ✅ Dockerfile: Multi-stage build optimized for production
  • ✅ docker-compose.yml: Complete with health checks and volume mounts
  • ✅ .dockerignore: Properly excludes unnecessary files
  • ✅ Standalone Output: Next.js configured for Docker deployment
  • ✅ Apprise Support: Python and Apprise installed in Docker image

4. Authentication & Security

  • ✅ First-User-Only Registration: Only one user can register
  • ✅ Registration Closed: After first user, registration returns 403 error
  • ✅ Secure Defaults: AUTH_SECRET required in environment
  • ✅ Database Excluded: .gitignore properly configured

🚀 Next Steps for Deployment

1. Prepare Your Environment

# Generate a secure AUTH_SECRET
openssl rand -base64 32

# Update .env file

2. Build and Test Locally

# Build Docker image
docker-compose build

# Run locally
docker-compose up -d

3. Push to GitHub

# Add all changes

4. Set Up GitHub Actions (Optional)

  1. Go to GitHub repository settings
  2. Add secrets:
    • DOCKERHUB_USERNAME: Your Docker Hub username
    • DOCKERHUB_TOKEN: Docker Hub access token
  3. Create .github/workflows/docker-build.yml (see DEPLOYMENT.md)
  4. Push to trigger automatic build

5. Deploy to Production Server

# SSH into your server
ssh user@your-server.com

# Clone repository
git clone https://github.com/yourusername/smartnotificationrouter.git
cd smartnotificationrouter

# Set environment variables
nano .env
# (Set AUTH_SECRET, AUTH_URL, etc.)

# Start the application
docker-compose up -d

# Setup Nginx reverse proxy (see DEPLOYMENT.md)
# Setup SSL with Let's Encrypt (see DEPLOYMENT.md)

6. First-Time Setup

  1. Navigate to https://your-domain.com/register
  2. Create your admin account
  3. ✨ That's it! Registration is now closed for security
