Put warnings and hide AI results in search engines.
Preamble
Many websites are entirely generated with AI, and are used to manipulate users into using artificial intelligence tools without their knowledge. Users should be warned for websites that implement AI, or are pro-AI, or are mainly AI. This is similar in spirit to the eco warnings that Ecosia has.
Details
Websites should be categorised into the following: AI websites (ChatGPT, Grokipedia, etc.); pro-AI websites (Microsoft, etc.); and websites that implement AI features (as are on the blocklist). AI websites will be hidden by default in results, with pro-AI websites and websites that implement AI features will receive a badge next to their icons of <pro-AI> and <Has AI> respectively. This empowers users to choose to utilise such websites, or choose not to do so. This can be implemented by changing the DOM. This will likely depend on #2, as site-specific scripts would enable this to be implemented effectively. A central list would be maintained for all websites, and got by scripts at runtime.
Applications
Users will have the ability to choose whether to go to pro-AI websites or not.
Additional information
One challenge of the project could be that of decentralised search engines, such as SearXNG - every instance would need to be reliably indexed. Moreover, some scripts could become 'stale' and unusable. They must be regularly maintained and supported.
