[Feature Request] Avatar Menu Control

Would like to be able to control the scale in the avatar menu like the old Mag and Jackal system.

I would rather trust more a more open source program than the one being shared in the VRCFury forum in mag's avatar scaler
But it does bring the feature i am requesting here. where it sees the values in the older scaling tools and then the osc application takes control.

I wasn't going to do this originally, but as I've used it the past few weeks I've decided that I need to. When I get time soon I am going to implement this, it's the highest priority feature for me right now.

I've implemented a very basic version of this as of today. It's very, very work in progress, but it works on a basic level even if there's stuff to iron out.

I'm still not sure what the best way to implement radial menus for this is that are also intuitive.

would it be better to do something like
avatar/parameters/OVS/Range// set as a float

will tell the program that there is a range radial on the avatar

use the float value to set the height based on the parameter

• 0 is the minimum height set by the parameter
• 1 is the maximum height set by the parameter

avatar/parameters/OVS/Height/ set as a bool

• scale to the target
• will dynamically load this to the Presets section

this is also the suggestion i placed on the other scaling project

That's definitely an option and I did consider something like that, but it seems like there wouldn't be enough precision for that to work.

The full scale VRC can accept is 0.01m to 10,000m. If I enable the full range with a slider each 0.01 step would be 100 meters.

If I used a more practical (and the officially supported) scale of 0.1m to 100m each 0.01 step would be 1 meter. This is better, but still not good for small heights.

0.01 (1%) is the smallest value that's practical to select on a slider in the menu, which is why I'm using it as a reference point.

I'm struggling to think of a UI design that is simple to use and supports small heights well.

should not need to worry about bit's being synced/saved, the app can handle that.
So the prefab contains

• example vrcfury toggles (range and direct target heights)
• example MA toggles
• example Menu and Pram files for those who for some reason hate MA and vrcfury

the examples go over the fact that doing

• a range larger than 100m can be problematic
• going over 100m can be an issue in game for one's self and other players

this way people will have a list of options of ranges

• 0.01-1m
• 1m-10m
• 10m-100m
• etc

And the values from the floats can be

• 0.00=ignore this value (use default height)
• 0.01=the min value
• 1.00= the max value

I am also working on a scaling system and you can check the compat.py to see how I'm dealing with the parameters (the prefab part is not complete but the sample avatar works as a proof-of-concept, my method is kinda cumbersome to create though).

I would love to add compatibility whenever you settle on your parameter naming. :)

FYI, one of your parameters has a typo: "OpenVRCScaler_TransistionTime"
