It would be quite nice to have a check engine display which automatically gets shown instead of any other screen if one of several engine parameters is outside of specification or sensor has failed.
I suggest a new CAN ID to be setup specifically for error bit flags but also some code to look at things like oil pressure / water temp / oil temp and throw a warning screen if they are outside safe range.
The ECUMaster EMU Black will output error conditions on sensor failure so we can use that in our user defined CAN stream.
It may be nice to be able to adjust the danger condition of some data, for example oil temperature. This could be worked into the system over time too. Using a long press of the set button while display is showing oil temperature for example.
