Integration Proposal: Hardware-Bound Watermarking for Benchmark IntegrityΒ #185

Description

@Agnuxo1

Hi DeepfakeBench team! πŸ‘‹

Congratulations on this excellent benchmark framework β€” 1000+ stars well deserved.

I'm reaching out from SiliconSignature (repo | demo), an open-source hardware-bound image authentication system. It uses ASIC proof-of-work (Antminer S9 BM1387) + Reed-Solomon LSB watermarking to embed tamper-resistant signatures into images.

Why this fits DeepfakeBench:
Your benchmark tests detection algorithms against forged content. SiliconSignature provides the proactive counterpart: embedding authentication at the source. Imagine every image in DF40 carrying a hardware-bound watermark that proves its origin β€” datasets could be verified before ever entering training pipelines.

What we offer:

  • πŸ›‘οΈ Reed-Solomon GF(2⁸) β€” survives 40% pixel destruction
  • πŸ” ASIC-bound proof-of-work β€” 0K+ cost to forge
  • πŸ’» Zero dependencies, MIT license, pure Python/JS
  • 🎯 Detection without retraining β€” just verify the watermark

Possible collaboration:

  • Integrate watermark embedding as a dataset preprocessing step
  • Add watermark verification as an additional evaluation metric
  • Co-author a paper on proactive deepfake prevention

Would love to hear your thoughts! Happy to open a PR if there's interest.

Best regards,
