[The One Ring 2e] Question about the character sheet and macros.

Hello, I’m new to the game, so apologies if this question is obvious or trivial.

I’m currently building a campaign for The One Ring 2nd Edition. I know that to perform skill checks I can click the die button next to the relevant skill on the character sheet, but I’d also like to be able to perform some checks directly from the chat without having to open the sheet every time.

The closest I’ve gotten is using /r @{pg-name|travel_roll}, but the only output I receive is: There was an error with your formula. Please try again.

Is there a way to start a check from the chat?

there are multiple options:

1. If you don't want to open the sheet every time for access you can try not to close the sheet but instead double click on its top window frame. Then it will minimize to a transparent button you can easily access from ui the next time to max it again. Please also note, that you can open the character sheet directly by alt+double clicking a token that references the charactor correctly on the map.
2. Quick Actions: you can drag and drop any dice roll from the sheet to a quick action slot. From there you can easily trigger the dice roll without opening the sheet.
3. Macros: you can use macros to trigger actions: e.g.
   &{template:default} {{name=Weapon Selection}} {{Weapon 1 Weapon 2 Weapon 3 Weapon 4 Weapon 5 Weapon 6}}
4. Use the chat to trigger the action directly:
   [[@{selected|weapon_6_target_action}]]

Sorry for the late reply!

1. I already knew about that, but wanted something quicker for rolls that repeat often (e.g. travel rolls)
2. I don't really know what quick actions are, but I found out I can drag and drop a weapon's rolls to the macro bar. I cannot do the same for skills' roll (e.g. travel or hunting etc), if I try to drag-and-drop the die near a skill nothing happen.
3. This is how I am using them right now (but I would like to use the provided template (tor) for the rolls if possible):

&{template:default} {{name=Travel check}} {{Travel Target Number=[[@{hearthtn}]]}} {{Feat Dice Result=[[1d12]]}} {{Success Dice Result=[[[[@{travel}]]d6]]}}

4. This only works for weapons rolls (just like point 2). If I try something like [[@{selected|travel_roll}]] I get nothing, while @{selected|travel_roll} just does the roll in chat with no template

It is highly possible that I'm missing something here, if that's the case please help me understand what I'm doing wrong 🙏🏻
