[Feature Request] Floating Toolbar / Quick Access Menu for Sync Commands #48

Description

@swapnilsubhashpatil

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Currently, accessing the core sync actions (Push, Pull, Fix paths, Reset vault) requires opening the Command Palette and searching for the commands. While functional, this is tedious when frequent manual syncing is required, especially on mobile devices (Android/iOS) where pulling up the Command Palette is less convenient.

Describe the solution you'd like

I would like to propose adding an optional floating toolbar or a Floating Action Button (FAB) directly within the Obsidian UI that provides one-click access to the following commands:

  • Google Drive Sync: Push to Google Drive
  • Google Drive Sync: Pull from Google Drive
  • Google Drive Sync: Fix Google Drive paths
  • Google Drive Sync: Reset local vault to Google Drive

Specific requirements:

  • The floating window/toolbar should be accessible from anywhere within the application.
  • It should include a toggle in the plugin settings (e.g., "Enable Floating Sync Toolbar") so users who prefer a minimal UI can keep it disabled.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Currently, the only alternative is using a third-party UI modification plugin like Commander to manually pin these commands to the UI. However, having a native, purpose-built floating menu or an official Ribbon icon for this plugin would provide a much smoother experience out of the box.

Additional context

This feature would heavily improve the quality of life for users who rely on manual push/pull syncing across multiple devices, particularly on mobile platforms where screen real estate and keyboard access are limited.
