Currently, the Global Icon Pack tool forces the specific shape defined by the icon pack itself, rather than letting the system handle the mask. This leads to a visual inconsistency on Pixel devices: if the launcher is set to "Circle" but the icon pack is designed as a "Rounded Square," the home screen looks mismatched. It feels like the icon pack is "overriding" the native system UI preferences rather than integrating with them.

I would like the tool to implement support for Adaptive Icons. Instead of applying a static shape from the icon pack, the tool should allow the Pixel Launcher to apply its own mask to the icons. This would ensure that the icons change shape (Circle, Squircle, Teardrop, etc.) automatically whenever the user changes their system-wide icon shape settings in the Pixel Launcher.
Describe alternatives you've considered
- Manual Re-patching: Manually editing the icon pack to force a specific shape before applying it, but this is tedious and has to be redone every time the user wants a different look.
- Static Overlays: Providing different "shape versions" of the same pack, though this doesn't solve the core issue of system-level integration.
Additional context
This would bring the tool's behavior in line with modern Android design standards (introduced in Android 8.0+). By utilizing the adaptive-icon XML structure, the tool would provide a much more seamless and "stock" feel for Pixel users.
