Is there anyway to add private chat between two users? and keep the user list in the room on the sidebar? left or right side of the chat?

i'll be updating the demo link later.
It does have private chat between two users (click on username under chat name), or multiple users by creating a group.
i'm considering moving the user list to a hidden right panel.
