The current visualization scheme becomes fairly unreadable for circuits whose qubit topology is not a 1D line.
The https://github.com/Qiskit/qiskit-addon-slc/tree/visualize-with-plotly branch already provides an alternative visualization method that works on 2d quantum chip topologies. This branch needs to be cleaned up, documented and tested.
