Since the new update, only the external spool option is available when my box has filament in it. I had to downgrade my version of Studio to get it working with my box again on my Plus 4.

I got the same issue with the latest version. Had to downgrade to QIDIStudio V02.07.02.10 to work with QIDI Box again.

Found the actual root cause here — not just "downgrade." Sharing in case it helps, and so QIDI can fix it properly.

Why the Box shows only "Ext": to load the Box, QIDIStudio calls the printer at
GET /api/qidiclient/config/offical_filament_list — but it sends no agent= parameter. QIDI's Moonraker routes that endpoint to a registered client agent, and when more than one agent is connected it replies:

HTTP 400  "Multiple agents connected, specify 'agent' parameter"

So the filament list never loads and the Box falls back to Ext only. The usual second agent is Obico (OctoEverywhere too). A printer with a single agent answers 200 and works fine — which is exactly why one printer works and an identical one doesn't.

Check it yourself from any PC on the same network:

If that's 400, this is you. Confirm the fix returns 200 (use your model's agent — QD_PLUS4 on a Plus 4, QD_MAX4 on an X-Max 4):

Fix without downgrading (keeps 02.07.02.60 and Obico): add one nginx rule on the printer that supplies the missing parameter. Edit /etc/nginx/sites-available/fluidd, add this inside server { } just before the location ~ ^/(printer|api|access|machine|server)/ line, then sudo nginx -t && sudo systemctl reload nginx:

Then in QIDIStudio, open the printer on the Device tab and hit refresh (or restart Studio) — the Box and slot picker come back.

Note: a firmware update can overwrite /etc/nginx, so keep the rule handy to re-apply. And the real fix belongs in QIDIStudio — it should send agent= on that request, or fall back to the sole QD_* agent when only one exists.

(SSH default login for these printers is the published vendor default — please change it while you're in there.)
