/display parity inventory: verified remaining gaps vs /editor (switchover checklist)

Mechanical component-tree diff of /editor (ProjectEditor.tsx) vs /display (DisplayPage.tsx), 2026-07-21 — the complete verified gap list for the #231 switchover decision. Homes reference the owner-approved /display design spec (three-region layout, D1–D8).

Workflow-blocking (close before switchover):

1. Import variety — CSV/XML/URL importers (closes with /display top banner for settings; deck input evolves into a top search bar once populated #267's Import dropdown in the search bar).
2. InvalidIdentifiersStatus + the broader Status aggregation (ProjectEditor.tsx:35) — /display has no "something's wrong with your project" surface. Natural home: landing/search-bar feedback + a right-rail status row.
3. FinishedMyProject (ProjectEditor.tsx:26) — the print-workflow off-ramp with MPC/supplier links. Home: right rail's pinned Prepare Print footer.

Placement decisions needed (owner):
4. FinishSettings (ProjectEditor.tsx:27) — foil/finish panel; right rail candidate, deliberately unscoped since the original audit.
5. CardGrid (ProjectEditor.tsx:23) — full catalog browse without a decklist. Does /display ever browse standalone, or does browse remain a separate surface?

Polish / later:
6. SelectedImagesRibbon (ProjectEditor.tsx:22) — bulk multi-select operations.
7. CommonCardback's swatch gallery + prev/next chrome (modal shipped via #240's button; gallery chrome didn't).
8. Sheet zoom/pan (in neither page today; open decision).

Intentional replacements, NOT gaps: Export dropdown → DisplayExportMenu; CommonCardback mount → CardbackToolbarButton; editor Ribbon container → display toolbar; mobile scroll affordances → #266's responsive layer.

Owner decisions (2026-07-21): #4 FinishSettings → right drawer. #5 CardGrid: YES — catalog browse comes to /display, integrated with the search box (#267's bar becomes dual-purpose: add-to-deck AND browse), supporting Scryfall tags and the full search feature set (operators, printing tags, sources). Both feed the upcoming polish-pass design round alongside: deck auto-backup + Save-co-equal-with-Print finish footer, and rehoming the 4-tab print page as the funnel destination.

Owner addendum (2026-07-21), 4-tab print page: tabs reorder with PDF as default/first, then MPC, then the remaining two per owner's stated order (verbatim "PDF, MPC, NotMOC, Pringle" — implementation maps these to the page's actual tab names); the PDF tab drops its embedded PDF preview — /display's center sheet region is the preview now, the tab keeps generation/settings only. Folded into the running polish design round.

Owner refinement (2026-07-21) to the sheet-presentation row (R7, deferred out of #274): pages render CLEAR — no white fill, no drawn box — bounded only by a hairline PINLINE with rounded corners; inter-page spacing minimized further; the per-page "Page 1 of 13" line is removed entirely, replaced by a compact floating "1/13" indicator off to the side that updates while scrolling. Spec + mockup being amended by the design session; implementation lands with the presentation pass.

4. FinishSettings placement — still an unresolved owner placement decision, as originally scoped.
6. SelectedImagesRibbon bulk multi-select — not built.
7. CommonCardback swatch gallery/prev-next chrome — the modal itself shipped via #240's button, but the gallery chrome did not (confirmed still open in #283's own "deferred" list).
8. Sheet zoom/pan — still an open design decision, not built in either page.

Net: 3 of 8 items delivered, 1 partially, 4 still open. Not closing — real scope remains, matching this issue's own "switchover checklist" framing (switchover isn't clear yet).

OWNER RULING 2026-07-23: parity is now a HIGH-PRIORITY BLOCKER — the /editor route swap (PR #389, built and clean) HOLDS until this issue's gaps close. All parity work targets the unified page (features ported INTO it); the classic editor is reference-only. PR #389's ~190 individually-skipped Playwright tests (each cites this issue) enumerate the gap surface; triage dispatched to cluster them into build waves.
