Would love to have a centralized logging mechanism that can be used easily in all tool. The app can provide an area that displays these log entires.

Area could be shown via setting.

How do you think the logs should be displayed? Per tool and should that be displayed to end user or sent to the tool author? Can you provide some thoughts on the actual functionality?

Idea is to provide a central logging that works on app level. Yesterday I played a little with a first tool and in general everything worked fine...
I like the getting started example. But the logging component inside the tool should be not inside the tool... it should be on app-level with some central provided features by the api of the app.

In the setting there should be a switch to show or hide the logging area.

I think such centralized logging makes it much easier for an app developer to work on its tool and on the other hand users can have better insides, what happens.

@Power-Maverick, @cyco77 I think the PPTB should provide an interface to the tool authors to log. The logger in PPTB would log in JSON format. Explore https://github.com/pinojs/pino

I wouldn't want the tool authors to worry about logging anything other than, what level and what's the message. The logger should by default log the timestamp, the tool/package name, etc. etc.

Tool Authors can build a page to display Logs from the Log API (https://github.com/pinojs/pino-pretty) and review the logs.

We can also discuss OpenTelemetry standards and stuff, but that's overkill at this stage IMO.
