ZenithDB is an open source project for people building, operating, and learning from database systems. We want the project to be a place where contributors can do serious technical work without having to tolerate harassment, exclusion, or personal attacks.
Everyone who participates in the project is expected to help keep discussions constructive, respectful, and welcoming across experience levels, backgrounds, identities, and perspectives.
Project participants are expected to:
- Treat other people with respect, patience, and professional courtesy.
- Critique ideas, code, and designs without attacking the person behind them.
- Assume good intent where reasonable, and ask clarifying questions before escalating disagreement.
- Accept constructive feedback and be willing to revise your position when the evidence changes.
- Keep discussions focused on the project and the technical or community decision at hand.
- Respect maintainers' time, contributor boundaries, and requests to pause or redirect a conversation.
- Give credit for ideas, reports, and contributions from others.
The following behavior is not acceptable in project spaces:
- Harassment, intimidation, stalking, or sustained disruption of discussion.
- Insults, slurs, demeaning language, or discrimination based on identity, background, ability, religion, age, nationality, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or similar characteristics.
- Sexualized language, imagery, attention, or advances in project spaces.
- Threats of violence or encouragement of harm toward any person or group.
- Publishing or threatening to publish another person's private information without clear permission.
- Personal attacks, baiting, trolling, or repeated bad-faith arguments after a moderator or maintainer has asked for the behavior to stop.
- Abuse of project infrastructure, including spam, coordinated brigading, or attempts to bypass moderation.
- Any conduct that maintainers reasonably determine is inappropriate for a professional open source community.
This Code of Conduct applies to all official ZenithDB project spaces, including repositories, issues, pull requests, discussions, community chat, events, documentation, and other channels run by the project.
It also applies when someone represents the project in public, such as by using an official project account, speaking on behalf of the project, or acting as an appointed maintainer or moderator.
If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, report it privately by emailing support@polarity.so.
Please include as much relevant context as you are comfortable sharing, such as links, screenshots, dates, usernames, and a short description of what happened. Reports will be handled with discretion. We will only share information with people who need it to review, respond to, or resolve the report.
Maintainers are responsible for clarifying expected behavior and responding to reports. They may take any action they consider appropriate and proportionate, including:
- Asking for clarification or a change in behavior.
- Editing, hiding, or removing comments, issues, pull requests, or other contributions.
- Issuing a warning.
- Temporarily restricting participation in project spaces.
- Permanently banning a participant from project spaces.
- Escalating to platform administrators, employers, event staff, or legal authorities when necessary.
Enforcement decisions will consider the impact of the behavior, the risk of continued harm, the participant's prior conduct, and any relevant context available to maintainers.
This Code of Conduct is informed by common open source community standards, including the Contributor Covenant and the structure used by Supabase's community guidelines, but it has been adapted for ZenithDB and rewritten for this project.
